Filming In Rhode Island

Nicknamed the Ocean State, Rhode Island smallest state in the union, but what Rhode Island lacks in size they make up for in many fantastic locations. With places like the Narragansett Bay and the Block Island, there are plenty of places to film. Combined with big cities and rural fishing villages, Rhode Island is a magnificent place to shoot.

When shooting in Rhode Island you should get in contact with the Rhode Island Film & Television Office. The office will help and guide you through the process when filming in the state. For more information about their services, visit their website.

Film Insurance Requirements in the State of
Rhode Island

We recommend the following:

Certificate(s) of Insurance (COI) as evidence of General Liability coverage in the amount not less than $1,000,000 for each occurrence.

A separate additional insured endorsement for the COI with the following wording: “the State of Rhode Island, including its officers, agents and employees is named as additional insured, with respect to liability arising out of the operations related to filming on Rhode Island state owned or operated property.”

Workers Compensation: State laws require companies provide proof of worker’s compensation coverage. If a company has no employees the company may submit a Workers Compensation waiver letter.
