Filming In Arkansas

Movies filmed in Arkansas over the past century, include classics such as “Gone with the Wind” and “Sling Blade.” The Arkansas Film Commission has aided filmmakers in finding locations across The Natural State for making a wide range of content. 

In a place where miles still equal minutes, urban, rural, river valley and timberlands are all within 30 minutes of each other, saving productions valuable time and money. Arkansas remains a nimble and innovative partner in materially impacting productions' bottom lines. Eligible production companies may earn a 20% rebate on all qualified production expenditures, with an additional 10% for Arkansas crew base.

Arkansas has a talented, deep crew base with potential workforce development incentives for major studio and series productions. In addition to a host of industry leading expatriates who welcome opportunities to return home to work, Arkansas is adjacent to the crew bases of Memphis, Louisiana and Texas. 

Film Insurance Requirements in the State of

Certificate(s) of Insurance (COI) as evidence of General Liability coverage in the amount not less than $1,000,000 for each occurrence.

A separate additional insured endorsement for the COI with the following wording: “the State of Arkansas, including its officers, agents and employees is named as additional insured, with respect to liability arising out of the operations related to filming on Alabama state owned or operated property.”

Workers Compensation: State law requires companies provide proof of worker’s compensation coverage. If a company has no employees the company may submit a Workers Compensation waiver letter. (Please create your own document based on the sample template.)

Many city and county governments throughout Arkansas have local, performance-based economic development incentives to augment those of the State of Arkansas.
